Free Speech For People engages in legal advocacy in the courts and develops and advocates for model laws to challenge big money in politics and to make corporations responsible to the public; challenges corruption at the highest levels of our government; fights in the public arena and in the courts for free and fair elections, for reliable and secure voting systems, and for the bedrock principle that, in a democracy, all voters must have their votes properly counted; and seeks to amend the U.S. Constitution to overturn the Supreme Court’s rulings in Citizens United v. FEC and Buckley v. Valeo. Mr. Clements joined the Board of Free Speech For People in 2010, later becoming Chair of the Board’s Legal Committee, and then Chair of the Board.
